Back in 2001, Thomas Moody, an IT Tech for Horry County, began publicly performing his original songs as TMoody. He mastered the art of Guerilla Gigging by combining original music and cover songs to win over any crowd, book more gigs and sell massive amounts of his first 3 original CD's. He played every type of venue imaginable, including House of Blues. These early years of success, in little 'ol Myrtle Beach, would ultimately launch TMoody's 4 year cross country tour.
TMoody traveled across the country performing a high energy acoustic solo show. His bookings would grow rapidly wherever he struck a chord. Seeing hundreds of new places and meeting thousands of new people, would spawn 2 more original CD's. By the end of the tour, his fans had decided they wanted to rename TMoody "GuitarZan.... Lord of the Chords." At the time TMoody considered changing his stage name to GuitarZan since no other musician was using it yet. Thus, GuitarZan was born.
GuitarZan and his wife decided to leave the road, come back home to Myrtle Beach to open a guitar shop. They believed there were many other 'GuitarZans' out there, so they embarked on a mission to get the right guitars into the right hands. GuitarZan's Guitar Shop quickly became successful and saw many famous guitarists come through it's doors. But it was the new players and guitar collectors that drove their business, as well as hundreds of perfect 5 star web reveiw ratings. 2020 had started as a record year for the coolest little shop in the south, but then suddenly, a pandemic halted the world. Stay tuned for another decade of amazing guitar adventures!
